Has anyone ever tried selling digital downloads on Etsy and similar sites? Some people say that it can be pretty profitable, but I have no idea how one could get started with this. Do I need any special skills?

That could be an interesting business. I bet it would be fairly easy to try, since you wouldn't need to invest a lot of money to get started. Of course, your time is also valuable, but you could limit how many hours you sink into the venture before throwing in the towel if it's not profitable. -
I didn't know this was an option. I always thought Etsy was a platform where one could sell hand-made items. This is a great idea! I guess that if you sell digital items, you won't need to worry about inventory and shipping?Comment

I know someone who makes a decent amount from selling daily planner printables and the like. Her main target audience is busy mothers. She mostly uses Redbubble and Facebook Marketplace to do it. You need to be good at coming up with creative printables, and you need to understand your target group, so you can make things they'll want to buy. Marketing is another good skill to have.Comment
