Shopping for the holiday season made me think about malls in their glory days. Some of my fondest memories were hanging out at the mall as a teen. I'd spend my allowance, grab something at the food court, and visit with friends. It was a great way to spend a Saturday. Sadly, malls are no longer busy hubs. The closest mall to me only has a few stores left. Do you think malls will ever return to their glory days? What would it take to get there?

These days I only go to a mall to watch movies or go to a certain restaurant hosted there. I think the biggest obstacle to managing the malls is the cost. The issue is how the stores inside a mall can sell their items at a competitive price compared to online shops. Given all the decorations and rental fees, I don't see a way to tackle that issue.

I am an introvert and malls have never been my cup of tea. I am very happy that I can buy almost everything I need online. However, I do enjoy going to one of my favorite restaurants every now and then, and it happens to be at a mall close to my place.
